Battery Ratings
There are two basic
ways in which batteries are rated:
1. Cold Cranking Amps (CCA)
The number of amps a fully charged
battery can deliver at 0° Fahrenheit for 30 seconds, while maintaining a
min. voltage of 7.2 volts (for a 12 volt battery.)
The higher the CCA rating: the greater the starting power of the battery.
2. Reserve Capacity (RC)
The number of minutes a fully charged battery at 80 ° F will discharge 25
amps until the battery drops below 10.5 volts.
